| Serenex (Durham, N.C.) raised $26 million in a series D round and a $5 million debt facility. New investors Cornell Capital; Pearl Street Ventures; MC Life Science Ventures; and Pac-Link Bio Venture Capital joined existing investors Ritchie; Intersouth Partners; Lilly Ventures; Mediphase Venture Partners; Takeda Research Investment; and Seaflower Ventures in the round. In 4Q07, Serenex's SNX-1012 is expected to complete a Phase II trial for oral mucositis arising from radiation or chemotherapy in patients with solid tumors. Serenex has rights to the anti-inflammatory oral rinse from Mucosal Therapeutics.
